Introduce a Friend Incentive

With a dearth of good civil engineering and construction professionals in the UK, Birse Civils wanted to try a different approach other than advertising and the recruitment agency route to source these skilled people. Which is why we designed and produced this 'Introduce a Friend' flyer, which was inserted into their employees' salary slips. The whole idea was to get their current workforce to put their thinking caps on and get networking in order to attract new candidates to join the team. It was also a chance for them to be rewarded by the company by earning some extra cash whilst doing so!

When producing this idea and submitting to Birse Civils for consideration, the Sowerby team had an initial brainstorm in terms of the appropriate wording/imagery. The key motivator was 'money' for introducing someone to the Birse business. We therefore highlighted objects which were synonymous with money, ie. banks, pound notes/coins, purses, wallets etc. We then thought about the money bank idea, sourced the piggy bank (in shocking pink at the time) and we were confident this was the right concept to put forward to our client. We adapted the image to Birse Civils corporate green and brown and prepared suitable ad copy to complement the image.

As you can see, imagery is clean, crisp and sharp with an impactive headline. We wanted to quickly attract people's attention and encourage them to read on and then think about who they could introduce into the Birse team.

Our client immediately loved the concept and wording - 1,000 flyers were printed and delivered within days.
